Keith Dicker, CFA founded the company in 2010 and is the President and Chief Investment Officer. He has over 20 years of investment experience as a portfolio manager focusing on managing wealth for clients all over the World. He started his career in Halifax as a portfolio manager with a large Canadian bank where he managed high net worth portfolios on a discretionary basis. Next, for 10 years Keith managed portfolios for an offshore bank in Bermuda where as a senior portfolio manager and head of global equities, he was responsible for global investment strategies including asset allocation, equities, fixed income, commodities, alternative investments, and multi-currency. Keith earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1998 and is a member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute. Keith has been recognized by the CFA Institute, Reuters, Bloomberg and the Globe & Mail for his perspective on global macro investment strategies. John is based in Halifax and has over 25 years of experience as a trusted advisor to individuals and families primarily in Atlantic Canada. He is a Personal Financial Planner and has the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation as provided by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP Canada).
John’s experience working with the largest financial institutions in Canada allows him to bring many practical solutions to the client’s attention. Through his work for national and international clients, John has gained extensive expertise in the following areas:
- Development and implementation of personalized investment strategies.
- Succession Planning for business owners to maximize the value of their business as well as assist with the development of an efficient and smooth transition to the next generation of leadership, be they family or otherwise.
- Implementation of international planning structures that provide for wealth preservation.
- Domestic estate and will planning to provide for the efficient and timely transfer of wealth from one generation to the next.
Haakon is based in Toronto and holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, England and is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter holder. He has over 17 years experience in finance, engineering and entrepreneurship. Haakon began his career as an engineer in Boston working for start-ups in the alternative energy sector which led to a successful listing on the AIM stock exchange and an interesting project for NASA. As a management consultant with Oliver Wyman in London, UK, he advised banks and insurance companies on risks in their investment portfolios and business units during the Great Financial Crisis. Prior to joining IceCap Haakon worked at BMO Wealth Management (Nesbitt Burns) as an investment advisor for three years, advising high net worth families on their investment portfolios and broader wealth management needs. He leverages his past professional experiences by bringing a disciplined, quantitative approach to portfolio construction with an emphasis on risk management and downside protection. Originally from New Brunswick, but having worked in Canada, the US, the Middle East and Europe, Haakon resides in Toronto with his wife and enjoys Alpine skiing, climbing and debating how automation and the rise of Artificial Intelligence is changing life as we know it. Andrew is based in Toronto, but frequently visits and hails from the South Shore of Nova Scotia. He has over 13 years of progressive experience as a professional financial planner and investment/wealth advisor. Having served individual clients and families, as well as institutional clients across the country he always welcomes a new introduction and challenge. Andrew has earned both his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations. His relevant and practical work experience with multiple Canadian big banks has provided him with insight into the client experience. Andrew offers unique solutions to each situation he encounters by taking the time to understand what is important to each and every client. Andrew specializes in assisting corporate executives in maintaining and exercising options, as well as advising clients with succession and intergenerational planning while reducing risk at every turn. As an active alumnus with Dalhousie University (BSc Economics), Andrew sat on the Faculty of Science Teaching of Excellence board. When not running with the love of his life and their dog Wally, Andrew can be found anywhere from the summit of a ski hill to the middle of the Atlantic or when in doubt on a hidden stream with fly gear trying a new fly pattern searching for an elusive trout. A proud Nova Scotian, Conor is very passionate about the investment industry. While completing his bachelor of Commerce at Saint Mary’s University, Conor managed three small business ventures, granting him recognition from the Order of Entrepreneurship by the university. Upon graduating, Conor worked with a publicly traded company on their account management team and was consistently recognized as a top performer. Since then, he has switched his focus to portfolio management and is currently preparing for his CFA exams. His business experience, never quit attitude, and exceptional customer service skills will benefit clients, as they make important investment decisions while planning for their retirement. When he isn’t working, Conor can be found enjoying the great outdoors, and training as a competitive athlete in the sport of powerlifting.
