Presented by: Keith Dicker, CFA, Founder & Chief Investment Officer
Thought we’d change-up the format of this edition of the IceCap Global Outlook.
On a regular basis, IceCap’s Founder and Chief Investment Officer is invited to share his views on global markets, economies and investment strategies. Here we are sharing a recent interview conducted on the Real Vision multi-media platform.
For those not familiar with Real Vision, they describe themselves as follows:
“We’re on a mission to disrupt the whole damn system and change the face of financial media. We’ve created a place where the world’s most successful investors share their thoughts about what’s happening in today’s markets. Our goal is to provide everyone from ordinary traders to professional investors unparalleled access to the very best insights and analysis from the most famous and respected names in finance.”
Their catalogue of interviews is broad and deep, and access to interesting managers is what makes it appreciated amongst users. Real Vision utilizes a paid-subscriber model; however, we are able to provide you access to our recent interview for free. Anyone interviewed on Real Vision receives no compensation whatsoever. As such, IceCap is neither recommending nor not recommending that you subscribe to their services.
In this interview with realtor, housing analyst, and fellow Canadian Steve Saretsky, Keith Dicker shares his view on the Canadian market, and tackles this from two different perspectives – one from a foreign investor’s perspective and one from the domestic investor’s perspective. This is important, as an investor’s home country bias is not often recognized by that investor.
Canada is a wonderful country with many investment opportunities. At the same time, many are unaware how the Bank of Canada and the federal government have significantly altered the actual risk dynamics on an absolute basis as well as when compared to other countries and markets.
